This delightful cottage is situated on the harbourside directly above the sands in the old part of the picturesque fishing village of Staithes, 10 miles North of Whitby. Staithes has a long history as a fishing village, is also an artists' paradise, being famous for the Staithes Group of Artists formed in the early 1900s and also has strong associations with Captain Cook. Seaview is a beautifully appointed cottage which is the perfect base to explore the stunning surroundings of Whitby and the North York Moors National Park or just to simply relax in the comfortable surroundings and watch all the activities of the harbour.
In the old village there are 2 cafes, 2 pubs, a butchers, 2 gift shops, an art gallery www.staithesgallery.co.uk and a museum dedicated to the life of Captain Cook, who first found his love of the sea whilst working in a village shop here as a young boy. At the top of the hill in the newer part of the village there is a well-stocked supermarket, a pub, post office, fish and chip shop and doctors surgery.
